Yesterday was an interesting day for the Cloud business in the UK.
The impact of Sandy on the East Coast of The US had unexpected impacts on our clients in Australia and the UK.
The Internet is now so connected and internet traffic being routed in so many ways round the world, that Sandy meant that the connection between our data centre and our Australian clients started going slow and eventually we lost connection. People went home and logged in normally.
Then as the day shift arrived in the office our clients using Bullhorn started to call in. Bullhorn had disruptions to their DNS and users were getting unpredictable behaviour. Most things were sorted by the afternoon.
However, it reminds us that when a Butterfly beats its wings in Asia OR when The eastern seaboard is hit by a storm - we are all impacted.

Innovate or risk loosing you margin!
When Kamanchi was founded in May 2002 no-one had heard of Facebook, the cloud or LinkedIn but these innovations have now changed how we all do business,
Those staffing firms which have survived and thrived over the past decade, particularly during the difficult years after 2008, are the ones with scaleable processes who have embraced technology and all that it can help a business to achieve.
At the end of the day clients, candidates and consultants don’t care what IT platform you are using. They are concerned with functionality and ease of use, Business owners and managers need to continually deliver as expectations continue to rise. At the same time they need to ensure that they getting good quality commercial and management information and keeping an eye on the next market innovation – it’s a big ask. For 10 years we’ve helped staffing businesses to help their candidates find jobs.
While no-one knows what the market will look like in 2022 it’s important to keep up with the latest technology to remain competitive and relevant to your candidate base.
